There’ll be no fresh air for concerned Toyota Camry owners today. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced on its website Monday that it is expanding a probe into whether fires have been started by the power-window switch on the Camry, which is America’s top-selling car. The probe expanded by 600,000 cars Monday and now includes 1.4 million vehicles, most of them Camry models manufactured between 2007 and 2009. Other vehicles under consideration by the government agency include the 2008 Highlander Hybrid SUV and the RAV4 SUV. One hundred sixty-one fires have been caused by power-window switches that overheated, according to the administration, but no recall has been issued so far.
