King Felix finally has his crown: Mariners ace Felix Hernandez won the American League Cy Young award on Thursday. The 24-year-old Hernandez had a record of just 13-12, but he had a league-leading 2.27 ERA and he was second in the league in strikeouts. His 13 wins are the fewest for a Cy Young winner in a full season. Second place went to the Ray’s David Price, while the Yankees’ C.C. Sabathia came in third.
