Former Miami police officer Delrish Moss was sworn in as the first black police chief in Ferguson, Missouri today. He is replacing former chief Tom Jackson who resigned last year after a Department of Justice investigation cited racial biases in the police practices. “If you work hard, if you stay honest and committed, if you maintain respect for the community and do your job well, we will get along just fine,” Moss said while getting sworn in. Moss takes over in the wake of the killing of Michael Brown and subsequent lack of indictment for the officer responsible.
