Well this is comforting. The White House and Republican leaders are butting heads over taxing the wealthy as they struggle to forge an agreement that will avoid the U.S. tumbling over the “fiscal cliff.” Both sides point the blame at each other for the current stalemate that focuses on how to raise taxes on the rich. “There’s no path to an agreement that does not involve Republicans acknowledging that rates have to go up on the wealthiest Americans,” Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner said on Meet the Press.
