Ford Moving All Small Cars to Mexico in Next Few Years

Ford Motor Company confirmed Wednesday that it will cease all small-car production in the United States and move it to Mexico over the next two to three years. The American automaker had previously announced that it would end the U.S. production of small cars Focus and C-Max by 2018, but have now finalized where they will be moving their production. According to The Detroit News, the small cars will be replaced at the Wayne, Michigan, factory likely by the Ranger midsize pickup and possibly the Bronco SUV. The move comes amid a presidential election season in which Republican nominee Donald Trump has made it a large part of his campaign to rail against free trade and American businesses moving overseas.
