On Wednesday, 28-year-old Floyd Corkins pleaded guilty to three charges, including committing an act of terrorism while armed, after an August shooting in the Family Research Council’s Washington, D.C., headquarters. In a bizarre stance for marriage equality, Corkins planned to shoot staffers at the pro-family organization and smear the 15 Chick-Fil-A sandwiches he bought into their faces. Thankfully, two staffers wrestled the gun out of his hands, injuring the security guard in the process. “They endorse Chick-Fil-A and also Chick-Fil-A came out against gay marriage, so I was going to use that as a statement,” prosecutors say Corkins told investigators. He will be sentenced in April and faces up to 70 years in prison.
