The man who stabbed a police commander and his partner after holding their child hostage reportedly recorded a Facebook Live video of the attack. According to the New York Post, two security officials said 25-year-old Larossi Abballa recorded the stabbing, though his profile reportedly was no longer available on the internet on Tuesday morning. At one point in the video, Abballa audibly asked what to do with the couple’s 3-year-old. The profile, according to the Post, showed a picture of a smiling bearded man who posted videos critical of Saudi Arabia and Israel. “Some will say we see evil everywhere!” he allegedly wrote about 18 hours before the attack. Abballa was killed in the ensuing altercation with police. The 42-year-old police commander he killed was later identified as Jean-Baptiste Salvaing. President François Hollande called the attack “incontestably a terrorist act,” adding that France is clearly facing a terror threat “of a very large scale.” Abballa had a previous conviction for terrorist crimes.
