Edith Bouvier and William Daniels, two French journalists who had been trapped in Syria, made it safely to Lebanon on Thursday. Bouvier had been wounded on Wednesday of last week during a rocket attack in Homs that killed American journalist Marie Colvin. After a video message of the injured Bouvier requesting help was posted online, Syrian activists smuggled Bouvier, Daniels, and two other journalists out of the city. The members of the group made it to Lebanon this week. Bouvier’s parents spoke with her after her arrival and said she was “in good spirits,” and French President Nicolas Sarkozy confirmed their safe arrival in Lebanon.
