Former Vice President Al Gore might feel differently about climate change if he saw the sculpture Frozen Gore on display in Fairbanks, Alaska. The representation from sculptor Steve Dean is complete with hot air pouring from the mouth of the vocal crusader for climate-change awareness. The two local businessmen who commissioned the sculpture say they plan on erecting a similar piece each winter until Gore comes to Fairbanks to discuss global warming. “We don’t agree with his theories,” one of the men who commissioned the work said. “We’re suspicious of the financial motivation behind them.” The work has also inspired a contest, asking people to guess how long a Ford F-350 pickup truck would need to run to match the emissions of a Lear jet flight from Gore’s home in Tennessee to Copenhagen, where the international climate-change summit recently took place. A spokesperson for Gore said he doesn’t own a Lear jet and traveled to and from the Danish capital via commercial flights.
