While the world has been focused on the death of Osama bin Laden, pressure is increasing on Muammar Gaddafi. The chief prosecutor at the International Criminal Court, Luis Moreno-Ocampo, has said there are ground to charge forces loyal to Gaddafi with crimes against humanity, including murder, unlawful detention, torture, and persecution. The prosecutor's office is also investigating allegations of rape, and reports that mobs in the rebel-held city of Benghazi killed dozens of Africans thought to be mercenaries. Ocampo said the shooting of protesters appeared to be systematic, and would submit his first application for arrest warrants in the next few weeks. The warrants will likely be for Gaddafi and his inner circle. Ocampo said five warrants would likely be issued.
