Sorry about that, German farm. Earlier today, authorities said that bean sprouts from an organic farm were the likely source of Germany's deadly E. coli outbreak—but now they've changed their tune. Initial test reports show that 23 of 40 samples from the farm tested negative for the "super toxic" strain of the bacteria. This does not mean that previous sample tests were not contaminated. Officials are currently testing 17 more sample batches, and are still puzzled over the cause of the outbreak. "A conclusion of the investigations and a clarification of the contamination's origin is not expected in the short term," said the Lower-Saxony state agriculture ministry. Meanwhile, consumers remain concerned about what produce is and isn't safe to eat.
