A vigil was held Sunday in Berlin for a woman who was beaten to death when she tried to defend two female teenagers from a group of male harassers. Tugce Albayrak was taken off of life support on Friday, her 23rd birthday. She came to the help of two teenage girls being harassed by a group of men earlier this month when she heard cries for help from the bathroom at a fast food restaurant. One of the men allegedly followed her to her car and struck her with a stone or bat. An 18-year-old referred to only as Senal M is in custody and has confessed to the attack. "Like countless citizens, I am shocked and appalled by this terrible act. Tugce has earned gratitude and respect from us all," said German President Joachim Gauck.
