As Gleeks nationwide prepare for the sophomore season of Fox’s hit dramedy on Tuesday, recent casting news is upping the excitement factor—according to E! Online, Gwyneth Paltrow is in talks to appear on Glee. The website reports the actress would sign on as a substitute teacher and a love interest for the club’s coach, Will Schuester. Paltrow’s two-episode arc, which would air in November, would include singing and dancing as she steps in for Mr. Schu who gets sick. The kids love her and Will does too, putting him in a tough spot with his on-again-off-again girlfriend and the school’s guidance counselor Emma Pillsbury (played by Jayma Mays). According to E!, the show’s Emmy-winning creator Ryan Murphy wrote the role specifically for his friend, Paltrow.
