Because Google Glass on your face isn't enough, the tech giant is experimenting with a smartphone that can sense a user's surroundings. The so-called "Project Tango" will map out surroundings with cameras and sensors that can be used to give step-by-step directions to locations or items in stores, along with "augmented reality" applications. The project will be especially useful for the visually impaired—and advertisers.
