Google isn't letting the recession crimp the company's innovation. Its latest product, Google Latitude, leaves Street View and Google Earth in the dust by allowing users to share their location using their cell phone signal, Wi-Fi, or GPS. "Along with their locations, friends can share other information on Latitude by updating a status line or changing their picture, which appears as a tiny representative icon on a map," the Wall Street Journal reports. Even though Google has rolled out a set of privacy options, it seems clear that if Latitude gains popularity there'll be no such thing as off the grid.
