That's a wrap for tonight. After a few hours of wrangling for support in vain, House Speaker John Boehner pulled the plug on a planned vote on his debt-ceiling plan. He simply didn't have enough support from his caucus, it appears. Boehner’s plan would shave about $1 trillion off U.S. deficits over 10 years, and raise the debt ceiling for six months. In the Senate, Democratic leader Harry Reid has promised to kill it upon arrival, and is pushing his own plan to cut more than $2 trillion from deficits while raising the debt cap through 2013.
