The Republican U.S. Senate candidate for Oregon, Monica Wehby, has been accused of plagiarizing her health plan from a survey done by Karl Rove’s political group Crossroads USA. Wehby, who is a pediatric neurosurgeon, had the plan taken down from her website, but her campaign simultaneously issued a statement declaring, “The suggestion that a pediatric neurosurgeon needs to copy a health-care plan from American Crossroads is absurd. Dr. Wehby is too busy performing brain surgery on sick children to respond, sorry.” Her plan used almost the exact same language as the Rove group on everything from health savings accounts, buying health care across state lines, health exchanges, and getting rid of the medical-device tax.
