Just because President Obama signed health-care reform into law on Tuesday doesn’t mean Republicans are going to give up their fight against it. In addition to supporting the cases of 13 state attorney generals, who are challenging the constitutionality of the individual mandate, the GOP will do everything in its power to block the reconciliation “fix-it” package in the Senate. Their stalling tactics got off on poor footing, however: The Senate parliamentarian rejected a Republican argument that changes to the so-called Cadillac tax were outside the purview of reconciliation. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, meanwhile, is moving quickly: He hopes to bring up the reconciliation package on the Senate floor on Tuesday afternoon and is eyeing Friday or Saturday for a vote.
