Angry demonstrations against heads of state: not just in the Middle East anymore. Protesters have taken to the streets of Port-au-Prince after Haitian President René Préval announced he'll extend his term in office by three months to allow a runoff between the top candidates in a November election, rather than leaving office Monday, as previously scheduled. Preval was constitutionally barred from running in the election, and former First Lady Mirlande Manigat and musician Michel "Sweet Mickey" Martelly will face off in the March 20 vote. But 200 Haitians had other ideas, throwing stones at police and U.N. peacekeepers in the capital and demanding that Préval step down immediately. Préval is now expected to leave office on May 14.
