Nikki Haley will live to fight another day. After winning Tuesday's GOP runoff election, she'll face Democratic nominee Vincent Sheheen in November to become South Carolina's next governor. Haley, the tea-party favorite endorsed by Sarah Palin, made history as the first Indian-American woman to run for the position. She beat out U.S. Rep. Gresham Barrett for the GOP nomination, despite allegations of an extramarital affair with a blogger. In other South Carolina news, Tim Scott, a black GOP lawmaker, beat out Paul Thurmond, Strom Thurmond’s grandson, for a chance to run in November for an open Congressional seat. In North Carolina, Democrat Elaine Marshall won the senatorial runoff against Cal Cunningham, former state senator. She'll go up against Sen. Richard Burr come midterm election time.
