A study published this week in the British Medical Journal asserts that more than half of Dr. Oz’s medical claims were either unsubstantiated by medical research or were flat out contradicted by real research. “Recommendations made on medical talk shows often lack adequate information on specific benefits or the magnitude of the effects of these benefits,” the study claimed. “The public should be skeptical about recommendations made on medical talk shows.” Dr. Oz’s show is in the top five talk shows in the U.S., with roughly 2.9 million viewers per day.
