The dangerous “Pineapple Express” storm recently dubbed the “Hellastorm” has migrated from Northern California to the Los Angeles area. The storm flooded freeways, shut down offices and schools, and forced evacuations in the northern part of the state. Rain began falling late Thursday night in parts of the San Fernando Valley, and power outages have already occurred for thousands near Santa Barbara. Wind and rain are expected to intensify in the Los Angeles area as Friday progresses."It's a big storm, as we expected, and it's headed south with very powerful winds and heavy rainfall," said National Weather Service meteorologist Will Pi. In the mountains, wind gusts reached up to 140 mph.
