A batch of watercolors portraying idyllic countryside painted by Adolf Hitler will go on the block in Germany on September 5. The landscapes were painted between 1910 and 1911, when Hitler lived as a struggling artist in Vienna. There are only 723 of his works in existence, and one of the paintings for sale is one of his most famous: White church in the Wachau, which ranks high in the Führer’s oeuvre. Each painting is expected to bring a six-figure sum.
