French President Francois Hollande said on Sunday that the option to strike Syria for gassing its own people must remain on the table. Hollande, who was speaking on prime-time French television, added that a United Nations resolution that would remove Syria's chemical weapons must also include sanctions if Syria's leaders fail to comply. He estimated that the measure, which would set up a nine-month schedule to destroy the Assad government's chemical weapons cache, could be voted on by the end of this week.
