Justin Ross Harris, a Georgia man accused of deliberately killing his 22-month-old son by leaving him in a hot car, has been found guilty of murder. Prosecutors accused Harris of killing his son in order to get out of his parental duties in 2014. Though Harris's defense team sought to characterize the killing as a tragic accident, prosecutors accused him of pursuing affairs outside his marriage and using his son's death to escape his family. A video shown as evidence during the trial showed Harris reentering the car during his lunch break the day of his son's death and ignoring his son in the backseat. The baby spent seven hours in the hot car before Harris claimed to have discovered him there.
