Bond trader one day, hot dog salesman the next—welcome to the new America. The Wall Street Journal reports that in economic hard times, white collar American workers are cowboying up by purchasing and running hot dog carts. Carts start at about $2,000 and since January, American Dream Hot Dog Carts has sold 25 carts per week, about 15 more than usual while a California vendor who rents out carts says his revenue has tripled. The hot dog craze has put foot longs in smaller towns that have never experienced the big city joys of sauerkraut and mustard on sausage. A new pushcart owner in Haverhill, MA said of his cart, "I'm creating my own stimulus plan."
