Neve Campbell is feeling the Bern.
“I’m leaning toward Bernie,” the Canadian actress and Scream franchise star told The Daily Beast at the House of Cards’s Season 4 premeire at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C.
Campbell stars in the new season (which drops on Netflix on March 4) as a Democratic operative in Texas who gets pulled into the Machiavellian universe of the Underwoods.
The 42-year-old actress joins the long list of pro-Sanders artists and celebrities in 2016. The Wild Things and Party of Five alum, who generally avoids talking politics, would not elaborate when asked what drew her to the presidential campaign of Sen. Sanders, a self-described democratic socialist.
At the same event, Kevin Spacey—who plays Democratic President Frank Underwood—was also asked about the 2016 election, but refused to endorse any candidate. He then proceeded to talk about how he has been told that a lot of people in China think he is actually president of the United States. (Spacey was also attending the Gallery’s unveiling of a legit portrait of fictional President Underwood.)
“I’m not going to get involved in real politics [tonight],” Spacey told press. He did add that he hopes “that we can get to a point where [the influence of money in politics] starts to change.” When asked by a reporter what House of Cards says about the 2016 race, he simply replied: “Nothing. It’s fictional.”
