The GOP is getting down to business: The new House majority will vote to repeal President Obama’s health-care overhaul on January 12. The largely symbolic vote looks likely to pass the lower chamber given the party’s new hold, but it’s destined for failure in the Senate. Still, the measure will send a powerful message to constituents—and, Republicans hope, the president. "Obamacare failed to lower costs as the president promised...That is why the House will repeal it next week," said a spokesman for incoming Majority Leader Eric Cantor. Meanwhile, Nancy Pelosi, who will lose her speaker's gavel this week, shot back on Twitter: "While Dems are focused on job creation, GOP is fast-tracking repealing patients’ rights & Rx help for seniors," she wrote.
