Everything is bigger in Texas, including its terrorism charges. Michael Todd Wolfe of Houston was arrested and charged with planning to go to Syria and train with al Qaeda. Wolfe and his wife had revealed to an undercover FBI agent their plans to, as his wife said, “perform a violent form of jihad” outside of the U.S. On Tuesday, Wolfe and his family were stopped at George Bush International Airport, attempting to fly to Syria via Toronto. He was arrested and accused of attempting to “material support and resources to terrorists, including but not limited to personnel, including himself.” Another U.S. citizen, Bangladesh-born U.S. citizen named Rahatul Ashikim Khan, was also arrested for trying to join al-Shabab, the terrorist group responsible for the recent attacks in Kenya. He is currently a student at University of Texas-Autsin.
