Moses may have had some help parting the Red Sea—and not just from a higher authority. Looking at the biblical account given in Exodus 14:21, which describes a strong east wind blowing overnight that caused the water levels to drop and part, Carl Drews, a software engineer with the National Center of Atmospheric Research, used a computer model to simulate what might have happened at the Red Sea. “I think my account matches the biblical account pretty closely,” Drews told NPR. However Drews admitted to NPR he "cannot be 100 percent sure until someone actually finds pieces of a chariot in the area."
