In an alleged “team bonding” exercise, members of a Michigan high school boys lacrosse team are accused of killing a guinea pig before a match and then painting themselves with its blood, local media outlets report. The team—nicknamed the Red Devils—still lost the game. All future games for the Grosse Ile team have been suspended, pending a police investigation of at least 10 of the 18 members, officials said. “In cases involving these circumstances, our first priority is to ensure that law enforcement has access to the information it needs to conduct its investigation,” said School Superintendent Joanna Lelekatch. A Grosse Ile resident interviewed by reporters voiced concern that the boys may not face serious enough punishment, adding: “That’s the serial killer kind of stuff.”
