The infamous “crotch shot” of Bill Clinton that photographer Platon took for the cover of Esquire became one of the most iconic images of the former president. Platon’s photograph, as well as portraits of Pablo Picasso, Ernest Hemingway, Salvador Dali and Muhammad Ali will be on display at London’s Atlas Gallery as part of the Faces of Our Times exhibition through May 29. The secret to creating such a memorable image, Platon told the Times Online, is “to break through the shell and show what it is like to meet the person.”
