In an epic fail of a joke, an Indiana deputy attorney is “no longer employed” by the state after tweeting that police should use live ammunition against the Wisconsin protesters. Mother Jones magazine reported Wednesday that Jeffrey Cox referred to the protesters as “thugs physically threatening legally-elected state legislators & governor” and then tweeted “you’re damn right I advocate deadly force.” Cox told an Indiana magazine his comments were meant to be satirical, but the Indiana attorney general’s office said that “as public servants, we are held by the public to a higher standard.” Cox acknowledged the comments “were not a good idea” and also complained about his right to free speech being taken away.
