After fracturing his skull and shoulder blade and breaking three vertebrae in a 35-foot fall, Chris Tierney returned to watch Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark from an ostensibly safe place in the orchestra seats. Reeve Carney, who plays Peter Parker, called Tierney’s return a “miracle” and a “morale booster.” Tierney, discharged from The Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation on Wednesday and wearing a back brace, went backstage before the Friday show to talk to castmates and, of course, tell them to break a leg. On watching the video of his December 20 fall into the orchestra pit, Tierney said, "People don't show it, they show it four times and then they show the super slow-Mo version," concluding, "So I've seen it and I was cool." Tierney says the rehabilitation is going well and that he hopes to be back onstage soon.
