Israel believes Iran may have been behind the drone from Lebanon that flew over their airspace Thursday, sources close to the incident say. The unmanned aircraft—spotted by the Israeli Prime Minister from his own flight—was immediately shot down. Iran continues to flood Lebanon with soldiers—including some senior commanders— in order to help train Syrian soldiers to fight back against Assad. Speaking out in a Nahar newspapers, a Western diplomat explained the gravity of the situation, "Their goal may [have been] not only taking pictures, but also an assassination of senior officials, military or political," he said. Iran's involvement in the situation would explain Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's lack of retaliation for the cross-border attack.
