Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has been ordered to serve 18 months in jail for bribery. Olmert, who is 70, was sentenced to six years after a 2014 trial, but that duration was reduced Tuesday by Israel’s supreme court. His conviction was the result of an illegal property deal that happened while he was serving as mayor of Jerusalem, before he became prime minister in 2006. Olmert will be the first former Israeli head of government to go to prison when he begins his sentence on Feb. 15.
