As part of a campaign called “Welcome to Palestine,” 1,200 Europeans are planning to stage a pro-Palestinian protest in the West Bank. Organizers say the campaign, which is slated for April 15, was being held to support opening an international school and museum, but Israel says it’s a threat to public order and won’t allow the activists to enter the country. Some have already been notified that their airplane tickets have been canceled. The prime minister’s office released a letter to the activists pointing to the Middle East’s brutal regimes that better deserve a protest, and ending with “We therefore suggest that you first solve the real problems of the region, and then come back and share with us your experience.”
