No love lost here: “Glenn Beck is a fucking asshole,” Avatar director James Cameron said at a press conference on Tuesday. “I've met him. He called me the anti-Christ and not about Avatar. He hadn't even seen Avatar yet. I don't know if he has seen it." Cameron was apparently referring to Beck’s negative reaction to his 2007 documentary, The Lost Tomb of Jesus. Cameron later said that Beck “may or may not be an asshole” and that the two should have a dialogue, though an audio recording would likely refute Cameron's backpedaling. Cameron went on to dismiss right-wing attacks on Avatar—“They're just people ranting away, lost in their little bubbles of reality, steeped in their own hatred, their own fear and hatred.”—and called climate-change skeptics “boneheads.” Beck took to the air waves Wednesday night to shrug off Cameron's harsh words and paint them in a petty light. “The best part is, this guy has carried this joke around with him for three long years,” Beck said. “The guy’s making a billion dollars on a Smurf-murdering movie, and he’s stewing about a joke nobody heard on a network nobody watched!”
