A meltdown at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant is still a possibility. It is, however, “unlikely,” according to Japan’s chief cabinet secretary, Yukio Edano, as long as the current cooling of nuclear reactors continues. "If we can continue this cooling, such a thing is unlikely,'' Edano said. On Friday, Japan confirmed what many suspected: partial meltdowns occurred at the No. 1 and No. 3 reactors.
