Jimmy Fallon has done the “Evolution of Mom Dancing” with first lady Michelle Obama and the “Evolution of Dad Dancing” with Gov. Chris Christie.
Last night, he left almost all pretense behind for a sketch simply titled “Come Dance With Us,” in which he and guest Jennifer Lawrence portrayed elaborately dressed late-night infomercial stars who just wanted someone—anyone—to come dance with them.
The skit was no doubt inspired by their infamous run-in with J.Lo at the 2013 Met Gala after party, where the pop diva turned down the dancing duo’s request for some rug-cutting (they were, apparently, very drunk off Jello shots).
During the interview that preceded the bit, Lawrence revealed the two “most embarrassing moments” of her career to Fallon—even worse than falling on her face as she was about to accept an Oscar.
It was during the press tour for Silver Linings Playbook and Lawrence said an older woman who was incredibly complimentary about her performance approached her. “And in my head I just went, ‘This is Elizabeth Taylor,’ who was dead at the time… who’s still dead, sorry. She’s since passed.”
Lawrence proceeded to grab a friend and exclaim, “This is Elizabeth Taylor!” to which her friend replied, “No it’s not!” At that point, the actress just “took off running.”
The other moment involved the actual Francis Ford Coppola, who she spotted at a restaurant in Paris. It was only after she had introduced herself to him and his entire table that she realized her dress was unzipped and her thong was showing.
