New York Jets owner Woody Johnson’s patience has reached its limit. He fired both Coach Rex Ryan and General Manager John Idzik after the team finished the 2014 season with a paltry 4-12 record, its worst since 2007. Ryan served as the coach of the Jets for six years, leading the team to AFC championship games in his first two years, though he missed the playoffs for the last four seasons. Ryan was a fan favorite, but Idzik was not well-liked and earned significant criticism for trading away Darelle Revis. Johnson confirmed that both Ryan and Idzik had been fired and that he had hired former NFL General Managers Charley Casserly and Ron Wolf to help him reboot the team.
