More trouble for John Edwards: The former senator and 2008 presidential candidate has been ordered to pay $2 million by the Federal Elections Commission, which said that Edwards failed to declare that amount of cash during his campaign. It’s an unwelcome ruling for the North Carolina Democrat, who is still in the middle of a court battle after being indicted on charges of violating federal campaign finance laws for using allegedly using secret contributions to pay off his mistress. Edwards’ campaign team will appeal the ruling.
