The list of people missing from Joplin, Missouri, dropped to 156 after 90 people that were unaccounted for were found alive, officials said Friday. Six people on the missing list were confirmed dead, bringing the official death toll to 132. The city manager, R. Mark Rohr, said 300 volunteers and 40 dog teams have been searching through the city, but no survivors have been found among the rubble since Tuesday. A temporary morgue has been set up outside the city, where investigators are working to identify more than 100 bodies recovered from the storm. As of Friday, at least 19 bodies had been identified and released to relatives. The superintendent of Joplin’s school district said Friday it was working to rebuild the schools in 82 days, before school is scheduled to begin in mid-August, although the high school is beyond repair.
