A brain-dead, pregnant woman whose case has inspired countrywide debate has been ordered off life support. A judge told a Texas hospital to stop life-sustaining measures for Marlise Muñoz after her family asked the court to pull the plug when the hospital refused to do so. Muñoz has been hospitalized since before Thanksgiving, and tests have shown her fetus is "distinctly abnormal." Her husband wrote in an affidavit that he has “had to endure the pain of watching my wife’s dead body be treated as if she were alive.”
