In a confirmation that Juno, the NASA spacecraft, is officially orbiting Jupiter, the probe has sent back its first image. “We’re quite pleased that we survived going through Jupiter orbit insertion,” said Candice Hansen-Koharcheck, one of the scientists responsible for the operation of the probe’s camera, known as the JunoCam. “The fact it’s a beautiful image is already a good thing.” The probe is now about 10 days into its 20-month mission around our solar system’s largest planet.
