Forget the registry. Royal couple Kate Middleton and Prince William may ask their wedding guests to make charitable donations rather than splurge on dishware. According to an unidentified spokesperson, the plan is not yet confirmed, but it would still allow for close family and friends to give the couple gifts. If approved, the new royal couple will use their April 29 wedding to raise a substantial amount of money for charity. Middleton and Prince William have been reported saying that they want to ensure their wedding is not overly ostentatious since the British economy is hurting. While a guest list has not yet been released, the Westminster Abbey wedding will be followed by a reception at (where else?) Buckingham Palace, hosted by Queen Elizabeth II.
