Police are eyeing the step-mother of Kyron Horman, the 7-year-old boy who disappeared from his suburban Portland elementary school shortly after a science fair June 4. Terri Horman told initially told police she watched from her pickup as the boy walk into school after the fair, but cell phone records indicate she was on Sauvie Island, five miles away. The island is being searched. Police are distributing questionnaires with pictures of the step-mother and her truck, asking if any locals remembered seeing them near the school. Terri Horman has faced scrutiny for her behavior since her step-child went missing: she updated her Facebook page to say she was “hitting the gym.” Police have declined to say she’s a suspect in the criminal investigation, however. And officials confirmed that on Wednesday, Kyron’s uncle, Kristian Horman, was convicted of third-degree child molestation of a female child relative in the Seattle area.
