Opposition lawmakers on Friday released multiple canisters of tear gas in the chamber of Kosovo’s Parliament. The lawmakers, who belong to a center-left party, were protesting corruption, unemployment, and diplomatic accords with neighboring countries Serbia and Montenegro. Police officers escorted the protesting members of parliament out of the chamber. The president of the assembly, who belongs to a center-right party, put on a gas mask and tried to continue parliamentary proceedings, but struggled to maintain order.
