Nearly 80 percent of the money raised by Roger Stone’s pro-Trump super PAC in 2016 came from television and film producer John P. Middleton, Media Matters for America reported Wednesday. Middleton is the son of Philadelphia Phillies owner John S. Middleton and is listed as co-producer of The LEGO Movie, executive producer of its sequel, and spinoff LEGO Batman and Ninjago films. According to Federal Elections Commission documents, Middleton gave $250,000 to Stone’s Committee to Restore America’s Greatness. The large contribution comes despite Stone’s assertion that his PAC would be funded by small donors.
