The world's most famous adulterer has found new life online as a crack international team of academics finished scaning and transcribing Gustave Flaubert's masterpiece, along with all of his surviving drafts, according to the Telegraph. Notoriously obsessive about finding the right word, Flaubert filled up to 50 draft pages for every final page that made it into the book. It took him five years to complete the work of genius—the same amount of time it took 130 volunteers from 12 countries to transcribe all 4,546 pages he left behind. The pages are available and searchable online and aimed at Flaubert enthusiasts and amateurs alike, but beware: you're out of luck unless you read french.
